About becoming a mother, Alba recently said, "I don't want to be my child's best friend. I want to be a mom," she said. "But I do want my child to come to me when they have problems and need to talk, so it's going to be about treading that line."

On what kind of mother she will be:
“I don’t want to be my child’s friend; I want to be a mom. But I do want my child to come to me when they have problems and need to talk, so it’s going to be about treading that line.”

On being a young mother:
“I think I’m the perfect age—young enough to be a young mom but old enough to be prepared and totally ready for it. My parents were 19 when they had me, and that is different from being 27. And I’ve lived many different lives, so I’m excited and happy to be a mom right now.”

On whether she is having any cravings or aversions: “I suddenly love citrus stuff, oranges and lemonade; I can’t get enough of it, and I didn’t really care for any of that before. And I can’t deal with things that are too pungent. I used to love truffles; now I can’t. I also have a hard time eating a big steak.”

On how she think Cash Warren will be as a father: “We are pretty similar in our views on parenting. But I really don’t want my kids eating McDonald’s, and Cash will probably be the kind of dad who’ll sneak off and get McDonald’s for them and tell them not to tell mom!”

On how she will introduce her diverse cultural heritage to her baby: “Mostly it will be the Mexican traditions that will be important. At Christmas we sing Las Posadas, which is like a Christmas play, and we sing all of the Christmas carols in Spanish and English. My grandmother has traditions I will definitely be exposing my kid to. As far as food goes, we are pretty diverse. Cash grew up with soul food, I grew up with Mexican, but we both love sushi and lots of other kinds of food, so we will be able to expose our kid to so many different things.”

On her delivery plans: “I want to spend as much of my labor as possible at home, and I’m taking a HypnoBirthing class. It’s a relaxation technique that allows you to avoid going into panic mode and tightening up. If you are calm and relaxed, your body will just do what it has to do.”

Jessica Alba is Stressed With Baby Coming Soon

Jessica Alba feels like the clock is ticking down to the time she gives birth.

"I'm just trying to get my house ready before the baby comes. It's kind of hectic, it's getting close and the house isn't even ready yet."

Jessica has been keeping busy since learning she was pregnant with a baby girl.

"I'm not working so it's been a good place to put all my energy so it's been a nice distraction. I'm used to having to be somewhere all the time, and it's kind of the first time in my life where I really haven't been working in a while, and now it's just about the baby being healthy, the house being ready, and nesting, it's really different. It's cool – I feel like I'm fully absorbing the whole experience.

When asked if she has time to think about a wedding in the near future she says, "How could you not!"

Alba adds that her diet has been very important to her while creating her first child. She explains that it has been a bit difficult because she is having to eat a lot more than she ever had to in the past.

"I have to make sure that I'm eating more of the right nutrients and vitamins, but I'm not used to eating this much," she says. "I've had to take time out of the day to eat before I get cranky and rundown and tired. Before I was just like the energizer bunny."
